Myth: The Yass Prize only awards schools.
Myth Busted: The Yass Prize is sector agnostic, with awardees ranging from microschools like Path of Life Learning (2025 Finalist) to parent navigator organizations like Florida’s GuidEd (2025 Semifinalist). As long as you are currently serving students in grades PreK-12 in the United States, you are eligible to apply!

Myth: EdTech companies aren’t eligible to apply.
Myth Busted: Although most of our grantee portfolio is made up of innovative schools and school networks, we have been inspired by many EdTech company applications.  In that mix includes companies like Boddle Learning (2024 Finalist) and Be More Colorful (2023 Semifinalist).
